Starting an Intravenous (IV) Infusion of Remicade

I am a seventeen-year-old girl with Crohn's disease. I was diagnosed almost three years ago, and was put on Remicade as a last resort. I have improved greatly; beyond belief, really.Here is me getting hooked to an IV for my Remicade infusion. I now get it at two-month intervals.

Thanks for sharing the video and your story. I'm starting Remicade next week for AS (ankylosing spondylitis) and psoriatic arthritis. Pretty much at the end of my rope with all the pain, and *really* miss my active lifestyle ... so I'm hoping for the best with this treatment. I know there are side effects for some people (nausea, trouble breathing, et al), but I'm gonna think positive ... it's gonna go great. I hope!

oh, wow. i don't think i've ever head of that.

yes, i have all mine done at an out-patient clinic that is part of a larger hospital. i don't mind it because the staff are fantastic and i feel very comfortable there.

it was cleaned before the video was started. so yes, everything is sterile, etc.

I receive a weekly IV infsuion of Prolastin.I have a genetic disease called Alpha 1 Antitrypsin Deficiency.My SIL does the Remicade Infusions for Crohn's also.Do you do all your infusions at the hospital?I do mine at home - I only did one at the hostipal - my first - I prefer home.
