I interviewed Janis just after "At Seventeen" was released. It was a tough interview. Janis was a quiet, sensitive woman who, at the time, never realized the extraordinary talent she possessed. I have never forgotten that interview. That year, I received a lovely Christmas card from Janis, and I have kept it as a memento of meeting an artist with incredible talent. Thank you, darlin', for speaking so well of those of us whose names were never called when choosing sides for basketball!

I have loved this song for 30 yearsI!!!!! It just so sums up the story of going to high school then in the late 70's and early 80's or even now. Absolutely timeless and a classic. Love you Janis. Thanks for doing this song that spoke for so many of us in high school and maybe how we still feel now about those days.
