would of looked better had he used portable fluorescent magnetic particle with a black light, crack is there just would of made a better distinction.

Oh one more thing. I've also gone through 3 sets of plugs during my troubleshooting. Now I'm running a hotter plug (autolite # 46). Still getting some fuel fouling though. I've done cheapo rebuilds on 460's that don't have this issue. I will say though, the last 460 I had, I overheated severely, and it so happened the # 2 cylinder either broke a compression ring, or the block cracked, seem replacing the head didn't fix it. I sold it at that point. I'm frustrated. with my latest build though.

To any 460 nuts out there - I need your opinion. I just rebuilt a mild 460 but it's the first 460 I've ever had issues with. The engine runs very strong, but the # 2 cylinder is fouling rich and a little coking from oil too. It's got about 500 miles on it.Suprised to see fouling on only 1 cylinder. 19 in/hg vacuum and lowest cyl compression is 185 psi&200 psi on highest. Got spark. Is there a weakness on stock heads or block at the # 2 location? Or # 7 since the heads are interchangeable.

Pretty easy, just finding space is hard. you'll also need ALOT of cooling and big everything. We went with a HUGE carb system. Fuel injection is the way to go but it can get expensive. Which is why we went low pressure with big torque cam.

That would be great, I would love to turbo charge my 521 ci.. Was it pretty easy.. Or do you have experiance in forced induction. I dont.

Yep, my brother did a 460 swap and I sent him Cobra Jet heads. After all was said and done we put in a twin turbo kit. Just low pressure though. It produced 595 hp and 750+ lb-ft. Making bit power with those engines is SUPER easy.

There exaust ports suck real bad. There pretty choked. The exaust ports have a large bump in them, and fresh air is pumped into the exaust to burn any left over gas. Done for better emissions, and the port is not a good shape anyway. You can grind the bump out completely, and clean up the ports, that will help. Id recommend cobrajet heads, or after market, if your serious about going over 600hp.

Eddy current testing - what you're thinking of - works easily on non-ferrous items, but it difficult to apply to ferrous (i.e. iron) objects.
