@MareBellator 1st that made next to no sense
I know the reality of the military makes no sense blame the publishers of books like Rogue Warrior and all his fictional books he wrote. Books paint a picture of military life that is laughable to those in the service. Kid your trying to search the net but without real experience you have no idea of what is reasonable or true you will have no point of reference.

@MareBellator Nobody here posed as a soldier, you just don't know what is true and what isn't. This can be remedied by you going to recruiter and joining so you will really know and don't have to read books filled with bragging bravado and fluff. If you join you would see the difference between what books say and reality it is very easy go to a recruiter see if you qualify and then request a contract for SF in the 18X program or a SEAL contract.

@MareBellator Thats OK kid one day you will mature one day and wise up to what you don't know which from some on here have read is alot.

@Richdanahuff There really is nothing worse than shameless fags that pose as soldiers :I

@MareBellator You can't read what we do in a book or understand the similarities or differences unless you are in. Being an expert by proxy won't cut it head down to your local recruiter and sign an 18X contract or a SEAL contract. FYI Air Force Combat Controllers work for SOCOM units never by themselves they are always attached to a SOF element. But TACP's essentially the same thing without the extra schools can be assigned to anyone

@MareBellator Now having said that I have been around some SO's and Chiefs I would work with any day of the week. So here is the truth if a unit is part of SOCCOM it has been blessed off by SOCCOM standards as fully SOF capable or they would not be part of Special Operations COMmand. Special Missions is a whole other ballgame that belongs to a whole other mission tier. DEVGRU, CAG, RRD and a few other spook units belong to JSOC.

@MareBellator So check it out kid I was an instructor at the USAJFKSWCS and was there when the SEAL's sent 10 officers to our SUT training. I saw as an instructor former SEAL's and Force Recon soldiers who came over to the Army SF that former Recon Marines were hands down all around better. The only time I saw a rock solid former SEAL was if he had spent time in 75th Ranger Regt. The SEAL L&O stated that the SEALs were woefully behind SF tactics wise.

@MareBellator You are wrong on many accounts Marcinko had alot of reason to exaggerate he had a book deal again my dad was a UDT during this time period. MARSOC is part of USSOCOM which is essentially the 6th branch of service and when at war SF, Rangers, AFSOC, SEAL's, PSYOP, CA and others belong to USSOCOM. Force Recon was ever bit the equal if not better than the SEAL's and IMO MARSOC is not as good as Force was as a whole but still an outstanding unit.
