In continuation, the tank is rather large for the standard Rosie, but this isn't a bad thing unless the T is having trouble finding it's food. A lot of people would suggest coconut fiber or eco earth, but in areas like mine where mites are a burden due to humidity and birds it's a huge breeding ground for it.

If your Tarantula seems too skiddish or upset to handle, don't do it. If your T gives you a threat, don't do it.

The only things I would say about this video that I wouldn't suggest is touching the T's front legs, which is more of a confrontational method of doing it, the backs legs are usually more appropriate. Also, if the T's hiding spot is settled into a place it enjoys I wouldn't suggest removing it.

With that being said, if you know your T type is handleable, her method is a very good way to do so, and the substrate she used is a soil/vermiculite mix, which if aged or organic is the BEST.

@jackwaites123 recommended is a 5-10 gallon tank. That looks 10.

Spiders is one of my biggest fears, however, I've held a tarantula twice, I can cope with those things easily. Daddy longs legs are harmless to humans, but the most dangerous spider.....I can also cope with those as I have no fear of picking those things up with my fingers. Any other species of spiders, "forget it", I'm horrified of those things. The funny thing is, I'm 54 years old&I have the "arachnaphobia" disease.
