@uni1muffin I'd say Manifest Destiny qualifies as "interventionism", or at least had the same effect as sending the military all over the world to secure raw materials and cheap labor for "national interests".

We didn't send military to Rwanda because ther ewas no money there. We saved the royalty of Kuwait because it was Good Business. Sad really that Americans allow this decade after decade.

@sharinganclan213 That's how lobbyists have been doling out support from day one. If the west is in decline, it's because we've been fleeced by a handful of bankers and thieves... they'll take their money and dig in somewhere else.

@dons123111 That's funny. I think you're agreeing with me. Sweden has a free market economy... and universal health care.... and a social security system that includes everyone.Which is my point. If you want to attack socialism, I'm with you... as long as you're defining socialism correctly. If you just babble stuff from Capitalism the Unknown Ideal about "redistribution of the wealth" and the "looters vs. producers", you aren't going to grow beyond primordial, conservative thinking.

uni, actually, he doesn't ignore it. 1888 was the re-writing of coporate laws in America. Corporations go hand in hand with bureacratic regulators who soon sprang up after the 88 debaucle. There has never been a total Free market in the US, only got close from 1860 until President McKinley about 30 years. Monopolies are all caused by Govt married with Business, or Bureacratic Capitalism. Corporatism is Fascism, not Free Market at all. Govt exploits people and individuals.

If you want to be like Sweden, then start acting like them. They have the least amount of regulations in Europe, and less then we do. They treat their citizens like adults, and we treat ours like children. Stop revolting against Sweden, and use your reasoning

yo just need a good smile, a handome face, and make many promises to become president. promise the people that you will make them rich, and they will vote for you. rob one person of their money and give it to someone else, knowing you wil get support of the latter.i believe we will see a power shift from the west to the east. we have seen this happen in history and we will see it again.

Ron Paul does not know his history. He says that government interventionism is the cause of the military-industrial complex and the giant corporations that exploit the poor. What he ignores is the fact that in the late 1800s and early 1900s, corporations sprung into existence without/before any government interference and became the monsters of monopolies and trusts, that exploited the poor. As they occurred "naturally," this corporatism is the natural form of laissez-faire capitalism.

lolx, when something is free but u dont have it, its irrelevant!
etzel33 (March 17, 2010 at 4:37 pm)
@Iwanatt We have something in common then. Same here. I really don't use the communist model at all in my models, but I do appreciate the critical analysis of Marx on labor, wages and pre-19th century history. Honestly, I don't think you would disapprove of what I have to suggest, and it would be better than what, say, Che Guevara advocated. Perhaps a forum debate or discussion somewhere? email me.
lwanatt (March 17, 2010 at 4:25 pm)
well most truthfully i have been working on how i would design a government for the better part of my life. My views happen to parallel those of the zeitgeist movement more than any other theoretical system ive learned about, and they align themselves more closely with the practices of communism than any other existing form of government, however my system is VERY VERY different from communism in the traditional sense. i would be happy to explain in more detail if you wish. not enough room here
