o my fukin gowd. awesome. but...how the things that are below everything and move up and down works? huh?? that things are the things that burn the fuel and make the car move, yeah, but...how that things move? what make them move? its imposible! please answer me, to that and to this question: do that engine work with diesel or with oil??? do every cars usually work with diesel or with oil?? are they the same engine, but they work with different fuel??

They choose a gear train as it doesn't need servicing and will out last the life of the engine. That's the reason why they locate the train at the rear of the block. Volvo and Mack use CATIA and Pro/E CAD/CAE software.

Two other bad features I see are no replaceable wet cylinder sleeves and a gear-driven air compressor. If the gear driven compressor fails or 'ties-up', you can suffer major internal engine damage, whereas with a belt drive this wouldn't happen. Wet sleeves provide far better cooling and better re-buildabillity.

Having the gear-train at the rear of the engine and behind the bell-housing can be an absolute nightmare to service in a truck! (Or I guess about anything for that matter!) Prety rare to see pistons inserted from the bottom too!

This is a Volvo Engine (built at the Mack engine plant) with a red paint job! Seems like a great engine in spite of it being fairly new. My dealership has sold several to a large local fleet with and seen only minor problems.
