The Delta Force is already using the HK416 instead of the old M14/M4 rifles. But the SCAR won the tests. The big advantage of the HK416 is the low price: You just have to switch parts of the M16/M4 rifles to "create" the HK 416. That´s it. Both rifles, the SCAR and the HK 416/417 can use diffrent barrels (three length) and also the .223 Rem. and .308 Win. calibers.
So in the end it´s a question of money!

The german Sturmgewehr 44 was the inspiration for the developement of the AK 47, but the way it works is different from the StG 44. The nearly similar look is no surprise, todays assault rifles look a little different because of the use of plastic and sometimes, because they are "bullpup"-constructions. The M16 and M4 are using another system, so you can´t compare the look.
So the AK is mostly russian.

not all but many soldier prefer i don#t know why maybe because it was made with the delta force or because it's to handle similar to a m4 i don't know
but both guns are very good the scar and the 416
btw i don't know why but i think there is something betwen the usa and fn that they don't choose the xm8 and the m416
