He was an inch away from snapping that guy's leg. It's physics. 190 lb man flying through the air (0:25). Vagenas' leg is planted by the time Beckham's upturned foot reaches it. If his cleats would have caught Vagenas straight in the middle of his shin-guard, which it almost did, what do you think would have happened? Something has to give. His fibula would have splintered into 10 pieces. Just go look at some of the soccer leg snapping videos on Youtube.
