Yep. The more I listen to it, the more I reckon it's to her daughter not Kurt. She's telling her daughter that she will protect her from the harsh world etc. Pretty simple really isn't it?

A lot of people have always wrongly judged Courtney and if they could only understand how difficult her life has always been. She had to as if look after 2 kids(Frances surely but Kurt was not less than a kid and she was very protective about him).It was not only her husband that she lost that day but her best friend, the one and only person who for once in her life understood her and loved her the way she is. She lost her baby and it's painful you know.

God, she must be sick to death of every one talking about kurt all the time. No matter what she does, people are talking about him! You type in her name and 9/10 there's a picture of him. He's been dead for 15 years, i think she'd have come to accept his death by now, and want to be appreciated musically in her own right.
