@ pooltoo. I take it from your tone that you are a libertarian. This is why your party never makes any headway. You are too busy making rhetorical arguments about theortical scenarios while reality goes on around you. As a philosophy I agree with much of what libertarianism has to say but in practical application as done by your party it sucks. There is alot of heaving lifting needed to restore our country to what it was and the vast majority of it has to be done by moderates not idealogues

@NoSheep2 He? And if "democratic" majority decides they want to shoot me should I just go along? No, no, she is right - once the government tries to take away my basic freedoms (life, liberty, property, pursuit of own happiness), no matter if by a majority decision, that means it betrayed it's sole purpose and it is no longer respectable as government. And in such case, I will protect myself. That's the intent and spirit of 2nd amendment.

@realistpainter :this, from a person who obviously doesn't respect the decisions of the majority in a Democracy. YOU are the one who belongs in a totalitarian state.

Meant to hit reply but hit the thubs down thing...sorry. I agree with you. They make my case pretty well that they are completely insane haters of democracy.

The positive side to this is: when rightwingers speak their mind in public, it brings shame upon them and makes reasonable conservatives and moderates realize that the extremist rhetoric is a path to destruction. So I say, speak up, ignorant rightwingers! Show us the cesspools within you!

We should be kinder to them, perhaps, but after listening to rightwingers plotting armed overthrow of the gov't because they lost an election, my patience is worn down.
miamorphos (November 14, 2009 at 2:42 pm)
You know, I again have to point out that when rightwingers threaten to shoot people they disagree with, it's time to stand up and say: You people are freaks. Threatening to murder people because you disagree with them is ignorant hillbilly crap, and if this is the best you can do, you Palin zombies need to look into your hearts and ask yourself how you got to such a low point. You had the White House for 8 years and you all stood around ignorantly proud, watching war after war, now this?

miamorphos, death-neck is what I've come to see them as: dead savior, dead infantile beauty queens..dead fetus, dead soldier, dead criminal. They have no other reason to live other than to wait for the next death they can cause, observe, lament, avenge, use, relish, deny. The media has given voice to a death cult. And they have more than equal time...and our tax money, they have our tax money to invest in more of their death dreams, I'm sickened.

Brainwashed! Project much, shill?

Considering that a 'standing army' can serve a violence-loving nation in so many ways, I can't argue with your conclusion above. lol

Actually the Taliban are doing quite well, thank you very much. And the Iraqi insurgency didn't die out, it's just laying low for now. Wait until most Americans have pulled out.
