Yes, what a wonderful moment - seeing the people escape to freedom for the first time in 28 years ! I was in West Germany looking for a job in late October 1989 - but had to return here since that was now impossible.

Not a single person has died of this most peacefully revolution of the twentieth century.

Germany has learned a lesson of it's past and we have become a light out of the ashes of our dark past.
This is a story about a nation that caused so much pain 60 years ago but brave people who risked their lifes finished the cold war in Berlin by the power humanity.

After the fall of Berlin Wall, East Germans gained freedom and their basic human rights. After the fall of Saigon, South Vietnamese lost freedom and their basic human rights

it was basically thin in the outer areas, in the core city it was up to 2 meters wide, so you could stand upon. even the western side of the wall was on eastern territium.

How wide was this wall for everyone to stand on top like that? i thought it was quite thin with a round, pipe like top so people could not stand on or climb over it?
