Secrets. Intro.

So... new story =]
-------------------------
Intro: Mary Santiago is just your average girl - with big dreams. With her mother gone, her world means nothing anymore. She has secrets, ones absolutely no one knows, and she intends to keep it that way. When one boy comes into her life and threatens to change her entire future, will she stay away or keep close?

Mary Santiago. Nothing special about that name you would think. That's where you're wrong. Mary has secrets that she would never tell anyone.
Her entire life, she's been ignored. And the truth? She liked it that way. But she WAS your average teenager. Just with a different way of interpreting life.
When she was younger, a kid, her whole life circled around her mother. She was her whole world and she was hers too. They were the closest humans ever, both with a passionate love of dance.
In kindergarden when she was only 5 her world turned upside down. That morning, her mother made her breakfast and walked her to the bus stop. The bus came and Mary hopped on the bus happily. There was a scream behind them. Mary's mother raced back into the house to see the problem. At that moment, as she got inside, the entire house erupted in flames. Of course, it was too late for Mary to do anything and she went to school. Later that day, some men came and took her to her aunt. Mary hated it there and ran away. Not 2 days later she was found. The police discovered she had a living father who had divorced her mother when she was pregnant because he didn't want a child. From then on they had lived together. Now they live in Dallas, Texas where Mary is 16.

I walked into the school building. Everyone glanced my way but just walked past or continued their animated conversation. Honestly, I didn't mind. I wouldn't fit in either way. I went to my locker, which just happened to be the farthest one from my classes. I spotted a stick of blue. Tami. My best friend who tended to wear one color a day. Weird, yes. But I still loved her. I came up to her. She hugged me.
"Guess what!?!", she squealed, shaking from excitment.
I laughed, "What?"
"JOEY PARKER! COMING TO SCHOOL HERE!", she practically screamed.
I looked at her, hoping she wasn't joking. Joey Parker was like the biggest singer/dancer out there. I had even specially made dance rountines to his every song.
"Da truth. 100%.", she reassured me.
I screamed with her. It had always been our dream to meet him.
"Mary, he's teaching a dance class after school. You gotta go!", Tami told me.
I shook my head, "You have to come with, then."
"I can't! I'll look like an idiot. I can't dance and I'm a klutz. I am not going to look like a fool in front of Joey Parker."
"Who knows? Maybe you'll fall into his arms and he'll help you out even more.", I joked.
"Will you do it or not?", Tami said sighing.
"Sure.", I agreed. "Once in a life time chance right?"
"Exactly!", Tami said eagerly.
I thought about it. Then I stopped.
"NO. I can't Tami! My dad said to be home after school.", I told her.
She frowned, "Well, explain it to him."
I hesistated, "I can't. He won't listen.", I said reluctantly.
NO way could I spill one of many secrets now. In the middle fo the hallway. And I loved Tami but I'm not sure I can trust that big mouth of hers.

We went to class Tami blabbering the whole way of plans where we could "erase" my dad's memory, or persuade him,. As if. He'd never listen and he'd just end up... mad. I was worried. My dad had never made me go home right after school before. What could he possibly want? I crashed into somebody else. Natalia, the school's "queen bee".
"Watch it, Santiago.", she barked at me before strutting off.
I hated her. She was the center of the school's populars. And she was also the leader of the ones who tormented me. Most kids tolerated me, never gave me a second glance, but they would always go out of their way to make me feel bad. And who were her twin minions. My step-sisters. Yeah, my father... fathered two children after leaving my mom because he didn't want a child. How stupid is that?
Anyways, back to my stepsisters. They were my age, only about 4 months younger. Still they made me feel like the baby. Natalia destroyed me at school, they destroyed me at home. And "they" are Britt and Bree. I had never met their mother. She was supposedly a "famous" actress.

Do you like it? Should I continue? Comment!
BTW, if I do continue, it would be more of a side project thing; I'd probably focus more on the other 2 series.
